2. Driving Side & Road Basics

• The UAE drives on the right-hand side of the road.
• Overtaking is typically done on the left.
• Roundabouts: vehicles inside the roundabout usually have priority unless signage instructs otherwise.
• Lane discipline is strictly enforced on highways; slower vehicles must keep right, and left lanes are for overtaking.
• Radar enforcement is extremely common across all emirates.

3. Required Documents for Driving in the UAE

3.1 Mandatory Documents
